Salted Honey Walnut Butter Recipe

This walnut butter is so incredibly dreamy. Subtly salty with a hint of sweetness from the organic raw honey, and the vanilla extract really brings it together. This blend of healthy fats, natural sugars, and trace minerals creates a deeply nourishing food that supports stable energy, satiety, and overall vitality—while also being incredibly satisfying. It’s so easy to make and tastes a billion times better than anything you’ll find at the store.

INGREDIENTS:

DIRECTIONS:

  • First, start by soaking 1lb of organic, raw, unsalted walnuts for 8-12 hours. Rinse, then strain.

  • Next, transfer the soaked and strained walnuts to a lined baking sheet, at bake at 300°F for 30-40mins, or until golden brown and crunchy.

    • Depending on your oven, you may need to bake them longer… the goal is to get all of the moisture out of the nuts so your butter won’t grow mold after just a few days

  • Once your walnuts are a deep golden brown and crunchy, let them cool

  • Add cooled walnuts to a large glass or stainless steel bowl

  • Add a generous pinch of fleur de sel

  • Add 1-2 tablespoons of organic raw honey, depending on how sweet you like things

  • Add a splash of organic vanilla extract

  • Use an immersion blender or food processor to slowly and gently blend the mixture into a cookie-dough-like texture

  • Transfer finished butter into a clean glass jar, store in fridge, enjoy within 1 week for optimal freshness

HEALTH & NUTRITION BENEFITS:

  • Soaked & Toasted Walnuts

    • Improved Digestibility: Soaking helps reduce phytic acid and enzyme inhibitors, making walnuts gentler on digestion and enhancing mineral absorption.

    • Healthy Fats for Hormone Balance: Rich in omega-3 fatty acids (ALA), which support brain health, reduce inflammation, and play a role in hormonal balance.

    • Antioxidant Support: Walnuts are packed with polyphenols that help combat oxidative stress.

    • Better Texture + Favor: Toasting after soaking deepens flavor while maintaining nutritional integrity when done gently.

  • Vera Salt

    • Trace Minerals: Unlike highly refined table salt, Vera Salt contains naturally occurring minerals that support hydration and electrolyte balance. It’s also 100% microplastic free, unlike the majority of sea salts available.

    • Fluid Balance & Adrenal Support: Sodium is essential for maintaining proper fluid balance, nerve function, and energy levels.

  • Organic Raw Honey

    • Natural Energy Source: Provides easily absorbable carbohydrates for a quick, steady energy boost, that won’t spike blood sugar.

    • Enzymes & Antioxidants: Raw honey retains beneficial enzymes and compounds that support immune health and function.

    • Soothing & Nourishing: Traditionally used to support digestion and as a gentle, natural sweetener without the processing of refined sugar.

I love adding a tablespoon or two to my steel-cut oats bowls, pairing it with medjool dates. spreading over warm sourdough toast, or even just enjoying a spoonful straight from the jar.
